Behind the crunch

"Crunch"field Cookies & Cakes started long before it had a name. Our sweetest childhood memories were made in our grandparents’ kitchens and backyards.

Nana made the chocolate chip cookies we grew up loving, with a “secret” ingredient she was always happy to whisper to any grandchild who asked. Around the holidays, Grandfather Bob filled the house with the smell of his unmatched buttery, crunchy sugar cookies, lit up with sprinkles in festive holiday colors. These and other cookies lived in a larger-than-life, classic Little Red Riding Hood cookie jar, a fixture in our grandparents’ home that became as much a part of our memories as the cookies themselves.

Then there was Grandpa Crutchfield and his garden. Raspberries, grapes, and apples grew in his backyard, and his garden gave us vegetables that were at the heart of the soulful dishes on his table, bringing the flavors of his Southern Alabama roots to our generation.

Those kitchens, backyards, and our beloved grandparents are the inspiration behind our cookies and cakes. They shaped how we think about food: something made with care, rooted in where you come from, and always better when shared.

Inspired by those memories, we put a cookie spin on our family name, Crutchfield, and Crunchfield Cookies & Cakes was born. Today, our local Minnesota cookie company bakes crunchy classics, seasonal creations inspired by the flavors of Minnesota, and soulful favorites that take us back to the family kitchens where it all began. Every treat is baked with a little love, a little nostalgia, and our own Crunchfield flair.
